An honest and enjoyable experience
Legally Lucky.
My first novel, depicts a roller coaster ride of life's ups and downs.
An ordinary man, living an otherwise ordinary life has the chance happening of coming into money.
Money is one way people can achieve their dreams, hopes and aspirations but is it all fairy tales from then on?
Millionaire status overnight seems appealing to us, however there are down sides to most things, including this.
Legally Lucky has a deep morality to it.
It will hopefully lead the reader to appreciate life, to carry on dreaming but to live life rather than waiting for a chance in millions.
It is based on some of the aspects of my own life and experiences.
It is fiction but a very honest story, one most can enjoy.

Britain's most haunted building
A recent list of the top 5 most haunted places in Great Britain named this place in Essex as number one...
Borley Rectory is not a place for the faint hearted. Built in 1863 in Borley, Essex, UK, it’s said to be the most haunted house in England. The enormous amount of eye witness sightings suggest that even though many can be explained away as natural phenomina, a number still remain a mystery.
There have been sightings of a nun patrolling the so-called ‘Nun’s walk’ with the story that she fell in love with a monk but before their plan of running away together could happen, he was executed and the nun was bricked up in the cellars. I think that’s what they call ‘tough love’!
I'll have to give it a visit for inspiration for Phantasms in the Infirmary.. Vol II.

Gibraltar, Atlantis and mythology
I have always been fascinated by Atlantis.
I wrote about it in Phobic Wars...
Is it any more wh the search for Atlantis is firmly centred around my home town of Gibraltar!
The following article from the New York Times certainly makes me think of why.
"The Rock of Gibraltar is part of Plato’s most tantalizing clue: that Atlantis was an island that once sat “in front of the mouth” of the Pillars of Hercules. Ancient accounts place these columns at Gibraltar and Jebel Musa, a peak across the straits in Morocco, or Monte Hacho, a smaller mountain slightly farther east."
I was recently home and took the attached photo.

She sets out to discover if there have been any other similar unexpected deaths within the setting of a dental surgery and whether there are any common factors linking any such deaths, enlisting the invaluable help of her father, an eminent dental surgeon "with connections in high places". He manages to access sensitive and privileged information for her and as Jessie delves deeper into the circumstances of other similar deaths she begins to see a disturbing pattern emerge. But what possible motive could there be for these random deaths? Is it possible that such incredible depravity actually exists? Eventually Jessie finds the unwelcome answers to these questions.
I thought the plot ingenious and entertaining (although hopefully implausible!) and I'm sure it has done nothing to help foster good patient-dentist relationships!

World book day : Book covers explained
4 books with original covers.
What do they mean?
Let's examine them one by one...
Legally Lucky :
The man on the floor is me.
Its a story of plenty and hope, money and friendship coupled with crime and justice.
Originally I wanted a judge and lottery balls in the cover. I listened!
The definitive cover depicts some of the plot of the story with money strewn around and the handcuffed author on the floor. Created by one of my sons, a graphic designer and whizz on photoshop.
Phobic Wars :
This one is about cockroaches and a fictional creation that is based on Greek myth of Medusa. It is continuing the Greek myth, particularly Atlantis within the body of the novel.
The destruction to humanity is depicted by the cityscape in the background... I made this one and was pleased at the result.
Menta Dental (MBP) :
The cover was another one I designed and I wanted to make it funky.
The faces of the dentists are purposely repeated. It allows for the theme of the book. One dentist accused of murder and another in the back who is really to blame... Clever I thought!!
Phantasms in the Infirmary :
This one is down to my son's magic with design and ideas.
This is a hospital horror story collection and the silhouette of the nurse on a black background with the white open door being instrumental.
It again depicts the open doorway between the world of the living and the dead. It's dark and menacing I hope.
Writing a book and associating a cover that works are a pleasure.
Again, the stories on the covers are deep and well thought out in composition and meaning.
