Mapping the world through blogging

Amazing as the hits on the blog pile up.
What I find really fascinating is the range of countries that the hits come from.
What does it mean?
Is it more readers of my blog?
Is it increased numbers of readers of my books?
Is it some other reason?

What ever it is,  hello to all my new friends out there.

If I'm honest,  would love some hits from India,  Pakistan and African countries,  also Spain!!!

In the meantime,  I'm enjoying monitoring the blog..

Be lucky

Euromillions draw

Easter Euromillions draw is a whacking £110 millions...
One thing for sure,  I would not like to win this...
Why?
Well it's a massive amount,  too much for one person...  It's an obscene amount.

What would you do with it?
Overnight  ,  someone will be richer than David Bowie...
Bowie is a musical legend,  spent decades perfecting his craft and yet a £2.00 investment in the lottery can achieve undreamt of wealth...

Would I give it all away if I won this?  Errm,  err, no!!
II'd share some of it but I'd keep a massive amount,  use it wisely starting a few businesses,  employing people and re-skilling many others with a view to innovative ways to work...

Then there would be all those concepts and ideas I could make real....

Then reality hits,  it's good to dream but keep life real.

Read Legally Lucky on paperback or Kindle.

Phobic Wars

Phobias can cause problems of all sorts but what if the reactions are as extreme as the solutions?
Is the idea of a world free of cockroaches safe?
Should we tamper with mother nature?

"Phobic Wars" is an exploration of these and other questions that immerse the reader in a world of fiction that questions the what ifs that life offers.

Here's the link for it

Lottery predictions

Wednesday lottery predictions...  100% correct
Do you want me to share these with you?
Yes?
Okay, here it goes,  I am 100% certain I won't be winning the first prize.

Probability in excess of 14 millions to one against winning.
One is more likely to be hit by lightning...
Ouch,  what was that!!!

Anyway,  you have to be in it to win it and I haven't bought any tickets so I'd predict my prediction is pretty certain,  don't you?

Be lucky

Help me with reviews

Does anyone know how the reviews of books on Amazon UK can be amalgamated with Amazon. Com reviews?
It's quite annoying to note the difference in review numbers from one site to the other,  surely they should be the same??

If anyone has an answer,  please let me know.

Writing books for fun

Everyone says 'Write about what you know about'.
I have written about being a multi millionaire... However,  I wish I had the experience as opposed to some imagination.!
I've written about bugs and dentists,  both terrorise me.

Thankfully,  it is all fiction and a fun experience to read...Maybe even a movie one day....

Remember to read

Inspiration at the. AARP 2013

Life can be a bit of a gamble as we play the lottery of  life.,  we tend to hope that " fingers crossed"  it will all be okay.  A chunk of  hard work mixed with dedication and an added sprinkling of luck is all we need...

We have hopes, dreams and aspirations of achieving many things and above all,  never wanting for anything.

Legally Lucky is going to be marketed in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is ironic and also highly appropriate.
Why?
Well it's a book that addresses chance and the fact that actually achieving success is not always financially linked.
The truth about happiness is more than how much you have in your bank account.

This book is a work of fiction that inspires living in a unique and innovative manner
,  without walking through life with your fingers crossed.  Even if  only one person is inspired to live life for the moment,  then my work is done!!

Enjoy the books and tell your friends all about Legally Lucky

Please pass on the message, don't miss out and get a copy of "Legally Lucky"

Visit the stand....

Look out for this cover ..... the model by the way is me!!!

Get your own copy, read it and tell your friends

A very recent description of the story by Adrian is....

"It is one of the few earthly dreams to become rich so as it would not require much effort to work and buy who and what we want. But all that glitters is not gold or perhaps it is just a trap to a more mishap situation especially when our desire for this dream is not simple and genuine. This is greed.
Your book caught my thoughts when the main character was facing consequences on his pursuit. As such it has affected his life, family and reputation: things that never can be valued by money. I was glad to realize today that I am happy to live in a simple life but I am part of the few who, of course, wants to be financially successful either by hard work or luck. Somehow in a day reading I want to be the character of this book. Be lucky to win the lottery but has to face the consequences of what is an unlucky luck."

Pretty powerful however its a work of fiction to be enjoyed, an easy and pleasing yet inexpensive purchase.

Happy reading...
Ram

Paperback copies

My first novel published...
Its being proposed to be marketed in the AARP Conference in Las Vegas in May, though not yet decided... the book explores the possibility of what could happen if?

What would you do if you won a massive amount of money on the lottery?
We all fantasize about what we would do, spend, spend, spend and never worry about financial problems ever again.
However the odds of winning a draw are stacked against us so what are the chances of winning 3, one after the other?
If this happened it would arouse suspicions of foul play and the repercussions?
This is a tale about chasing the dream, not letting your dream lead your life and examining what could happen if indeed this did come true.

Is being a millionaire really all that it promises to be?
After all, all that glitters is not gold.. Raj can vouch for that!
Unwelcome press coverage, jealousy and corporate shenanigans wreck this family’s life and the dream quickly becomes a nightmare. Raj, along with two friends, endeavours to prove his innocence and clear himself of corruption charges. From innocence and hope to realisation and delight, only to be marred by suspicion, accusations and violence as everything unfolds in a courtroom drama.

Get this book and read the developments and consequences of being legally lucky. Fingers crossed, it could be you, but would you want it?

Does nothing to help foster good patient-dentist relationships!

Its on and its getting read .... free copy of my most exciting book to date, Mental Dental (MBP)

Dr. Jessie Stacks, a competent and caring dentist, is devastated when a healthy patient dies in her surgery. Despite being exonerated she still has to endure the police enquiry and press frenzy which ensue following this sudden and unexpected death. She also experiences a crisis of confidence in her own dental skills and proficiency as a result of the traumatic episode. She sets out to discover if there have been any other similar unexpected deaths within the setting of a dental surgery and whether there are any common factors linking any such deaths, enlisting the invaluable help of her father, an eminent dental surgeon "with connections in high places". He manages to access sensitive and privileged information for her and as Jessie delves deeper into the circumstances of other similar deaths she begins to see a disturbing pattern emerge. But what possible motive could there be for these random deaths? Is it possible that such incredible depravity actually exists? Eventually Jessie finds the unwelcome answers to these questions.I thought the plot ingenious and entertaining (although hopefully implausible!) and I'm sure it has done nothing to help foster good patient-dentist relationships!

Extracts from Mental Dental (MBP) ...Free on kindle

A patient is undergoing a dental procedure, he needs some dreaded drilling so some local anaesthetic is injected into the area
Nothing unusual about this.....

"He felt numbness to his right side of his face and thought ‘good, the anaesthetic is working’.
Suddenly the strangest feeling occurred, the numbness was no longer contained to the lower jaw, he could feel a rush of warmth across his face that was increasingly widening, he now seemed to no longer be able to move his head or mouth, hefound he was then not able to move any of his limbs, he was pinned to his chair and unable to anything about this, he had no control over these bizarre effects.
‘This is very strange’ he thought but could not address this as he was now fixed to the seat.
The busy waiting room bustled with life asHandel’s water music was being piped out to the reception room as a soothing background. It was too loud for anyone to hear his mumbled call for help… he then felt his chest become heavy and felt breathless. Was he having some kind of untoward reaction to the injected drug?
Quite quickly, he felt he was becoming sleepy and his eyes shut and his hearing seemed to change frequency, echoes now that were fast becoming distant and then they came to an end, the noises had stopped.
It was approximately twenty minutes from when he sat out that the young girl that had gone in with her mum to see the dentist had come out of the clinic room and was back in the waiting room.
Wendy addressed the waiting room from the corridor and called John back by saying ‘Mr. Massey, do you want to come back in?’
There was no reply, no movement and no attempt from John to return to the surgery room, he remained sat on his chair, eyes closed and peaceful...."

Phobic Wars intro

Everyone says, ‘you should write about what you know’ and if there is something I know a lot about, it’s the fear of cockroaches.
The panic and disgust I feel when meeting these creatures renders me quite helpless and my poor coping with this has been a stumbling block for me since childhood.
The trepidation and reactions to these insects has resulted in many an embarrassing memory and equally, a more determined effort not to encounter these creatures at all if possible.

I wrote my second novel, phobic Wars, based on this......

The story starts like this

An ear piercing scream of fear and urgency can be heard across the quiet and serene streets.
What in heaven’s name could be happening?
Is it a murder, a rape or someone finding a dismembered corpse?
The actuality of this was not as severe as the previous scenarios; it was a human coming face to face with a miniscule, speedy and shiny opponent, a common cockroach.
Is this an over-exaggeration?
Not at all, if the anxiety response is strong enough, this is not only a possibility but an actuality.

Anxiety at some level has been experienced by virtually all individuals for a variety of reasons and caused by a myriad of triggers with a multitude of outcomes. Some with a good result, most with not so good a conclusion.
For the majority, mild phobic symptoms do not have a major impact in their functionality, displaying tolerable and reasonable responses which at most can be seen as irritating and somewhat laughable.

For other people, the exposure to the same trigger can cause an irrational fear of the exact same trigger but very unlike the acceptable and normal response. This can be classified as a phobia. This negative phobic response causes the sufferer to feel fear, but eventual embarrassment and shame at the obvious 'over reaction' to their phobic source.

He who dares wins ... writing Legally Lucky

Inspiration and motivation for writing my first novels was based on a need to motivate myself and humanity...
In my work, I see people who may not have the quality of life they aspired to and a shorter life than they thought they would get.

The working title was "Hopes, dreams and aspirations "

Writing a book was something I have always wanted to do and I have had many sources of inspiration for this one, many being patient stories and their hopes on how a lottery win or financial windfall would have enabled them to change their lives.

The strong moral to the story that effectively warns people not to delay life and living it to the full just because they are not financially wealthy .

The message ....Being rich does not bring happiness to all, this is a presumption because I am not in a position to make that judgement... as an NHS employee – we are not generally rich!!
I had the story in mind for months and never really put pen onto paper until my wife and I were on holiday in Crete. Unfortunately this was not the best of resorts and turned out to be the worst holiday we had ever had, I was bored read both her books and then decided to write mine… weird motivation.

Adding author onto my C.V. was difficult..  once one is in a mould , it is difficult to break it and refashion oneself and create oneself.
However I had undertaken some extra training that made me be able to create the possibility of reinventing myself. I was still who I had always been but with an added dimension... aspiring author.

Books 2 & 3 were easier to write.

I'm far from the polished article but if I'm honest to myself, I'm getting better....

Phobic wars and the links with Atlantis

Atlantis ‘found’ in Spain 11,000 years after tsunami

The tsunami that destroyed the legendary city would have reached 60 miles inland
Phobic Wars and the links with Atlantis

LAST UPDATED AT 15:33 ON MON 14 MAR 2011
Scientists say they have discovered Atlantis, the legendary island and mighty military power destroyed by a tsunami 11,000 years ago, in mudflats in southern Spain.

The site claimed by lead researcher Professor Richard Freund of the University of Hartford, Connecticut, is Dona Ana Park, a mudflat and nature reserve near Cadiz on the Atlantic side of the Strait of Gibraltar - known to ancient Greeks as the Pillars of Heracles.

Speaking to Reuters about his discovery, Freund said: "This is the power of tsunamis. It is just so hard to understand that it can wipe out [a city] 60 miles inland, and that's pretty much what we're talking about."

Depending on land elevations, a tsunami of that scale would presumably dwarf the 10-metre wave that hit Japan on March 11 and travelled six miles inland.

Atlantis is periodically "found" by scientists and eccentrics hoping to make a name for themselves. They have placed the mythical city in a number of locations, including the Dogger Bank in the North Sea and Thera (the Greek island known better to tourists as Santorini) in the Mediterranean.

However, the latest candidate does at least have the advantage of being pretty much exactly where the Greek philosopher Plato said it would be in the fourth century BC - although he was writing 9,000 years after Atlantis was destroyed.

Circa 360BC, Plato wrote in Timaeus that Atlantis was located "in front of the mouth which you Greeks call the Pillars of Heracles".

He said Atlantis was "an island which was larger than Libya [the Greek name for Africa] and Asia together".

Plato claimed that 9,000 years previously Atlantis had been struck by earthquakes and floods and that in one day and night "the island of Atlantis was swallowed up by the sea and vanished".

Freund's team of archaeologists and geologists surveyed potential sites using deep-ground radar and digital mapping. Freund also says his team has found a series of "memorial" cities, built 150 miles inland in the style of Atlantis, by the survivors of the tsunami.

He believes these cities are further evidence that his site near Cadiz is Atlantis: "We found something that no one else has ever seen before, which gives it a layer of credibility, especially for archeology, that makes a lot more sense." Freund is planning further studies, including dating of artifacts, to add weight to his theory.

Phobic Wars

Phobic Wars

A chilling story of a one man's mission to rid the world of his phobia and the freak circumstances of a woman who is sent on a ghostly mission to stop him. It is the coming together of two stories that blend into an explosive conclusion that could have spelt the end to the world as we know it. If there is a chance that Mother Nature got it wrong in her attempt to create this world, could fixing it be worse? This is a must read book with a new story line to it. It evokes thinking and imagery that could be your worst nightmare?

Exciting, nail biting & spine chilling adventure......couldn't put it down (only to whack the roaches) & check under my bed thanks for a great holiday read I look forward to more of this author's ethically thought provoking stories
