New book release from Clare Ridgeworth

Started reading this new book by C. P. Ridgeworth.
Battle For The Three Miles Kindle

It's a political thriller that I hope never comes true.
It addresses Gibraltarian fears of invasion.

Excellent read,  starts subtly but develops into a crescendo of action .

Glued to it.

Well done Clara xxx

Adrenaline rush... Nice horror

Boo...
'Phantasms in the Infirmary' is a classic scary story collection.
It encompasses the transformation from fear to fun.
It's entertainment not fact.
It allows the reader some escapism from reality,  the thrill of being scared.
The thrill of feeling alive, emotions and a raised pulse with the added security of being safe.  Able to control the stimulus with the turn of a page or flick of a switch.
These are stories that make you jump and may make you feel edgy but without blood and gore.
It's nice horror, fiction with a twist... Adrenaline overdrive!
Ideal for any age, including teenage readers,  boys and girls alike.

These have an origin to the 'campfire' like sharing of stories by hospital staff all over the world.
A warm cup of coffee held firmly during a night shift huddle.  An element of competition to see who could tell the scariest tale.

Give it a spin,  read,  share and make some noise for Phantasms in the Infirmary.

Nice, creative horror

My cousin and her family came around today and of course we gave them a copy of Phantasms in the Infirmary.
The debate about horror ensued
I was trying to differentiate spooky,  nice horror v Gore.
My rationale is There's a difference...
Nice horror makes you feel uneasy and jumpy. It is based on making you think and the writer has been innovative,  creative and brave.
Gore makes you scared and it is full of dark, gratuitous violence,  bloodshed and horrible stuff just to hurt the readers senses..!

Nice horror craves intelligence and understanding,  enjoyment and moral stories...  At least that is what our intention is.

Our book is spooky,  granted but it is nice horror. There are opportunities to understand why entities may remain in our world.  It is fiction based on folklore

Please give it a spin.

Short stories - Ghosts not Gore

Horror:
Horror unfortunately is synonymous with  themes based on grisly, gruesome, violent, bloodthirsty, bloody and brutal acts.

The films such as the Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Friday 13th and Saw have given the ghost stories a bad name.

Phantasms in the infirmary is far from this.
It is horror but without the severing of heads or pools of blood. It is representative of the good old fashioned ghost stories. Things that go bump in the night, stories to make you think and not cringe!

It is a book that is meant to give you goosebumps but in a nice way, without the bloody violence associated with the genre. There are ghosts and specters but not violence for the shock value of it.

Please give this book a try as I fear it may be misrepresented by the genre.

Proof - for the Paperback version of Phantasms in the Infirmary

They have finally arrived, two copies of the Proof version of the Paperback version of Phantasms in the Infirmary.
Its been available on Kindle for a few days and that is exciting enough and there are loads of downloads already. Phantasms in the Infirmary is getting a lot of noise... good noise.
Already had a reader post a 5* review and all going swimmingly.

However, seeing, feeling the paperback version is something else.

It looks like a book, feels like a book - hang on it is a book!!
The cover looks good and the choice of gloss over Matt finish works very well so we will keep this.

It flows well and needs a couple of adjustments to the formatting but it will be ready very soon and available for purchase - promise...
