Continuity of a great story... MENTAL DENTAL MBP II

Thank you to all the readers who are actively reading my books.
The activity on the kindle editions seems very healthy and encouraging.

With that in mind, I am excited at the progress of my new novel, the follow up to Mental Dental (Murder by Proxy)

My hope,  should I say target, is to have it ready by Christmas.

It's really a great relief and exciting seeing the stories develop. The aim is to provide a great tale to continue the original story line as it "has legs" ... And it will run!!

This time,  I will have a pre release date and a chance to pre-order for Christmas on paperback and Kindle. Trying something different for this whopper of a story

So in preparation for the new release, this may be an appropriate time to make an appointment with the dentists and read the precursor to it...  REMEMBER... Mental Dental (MBP) is on Amazon.

Gotta work on the title and cover...  Any suggestions are welcome.

Sculptured heads

Julie and I attended a sculpture class a few weeks ago.

Our efforts are now complete, bronzed and mounted.
Quite cool considering...

Were collecting them tomorrow

Should consider putting them on the next book cover...  Lol

Taxing Technology

Technology is such a great resource...  Most of the time.
It can be quite taxing too...
I was exasperated though,  revising one of the book covers on kindle.
I kept on leaving the wrong file on Mental Dental (MBP)
I finally managed to get it right so if you download the book,  you will have the correct cover on it.  😂
The paperback edition is unaffected by this glitch...
Phew!!!

Proof - for the Paperback version of Phantasms in the Infirmary

They have finally arrived, two copies of the Proof version of the Paperback version of Phantasms in the Infirmary.
Its been available on Kindle for a few days and that is exciting enough and there are loads of downloads already. Phantasms in the Infirmary is getting a lot of noise... good noise.
Already had a reader post a 5* review and all going swimmingly.

However, seeing, feeling the paperback version is something else.

It looks like a book, feels like a book - hang on it is a book!!
The cover looks good and the choice of gloss over Matt finish works very well so we will keep this.

It flows well and needs a couple of adjustments to the formatting but it will be ready very soon and available for purchase - promise...

Writing books

The pleasure of getting a book published is exhilarating.
Seeing ones book in print is especially so.
The smell of the paper,  flicking through the pages and recognition of ones efforts is wonderful.
Seeing your name on the cover,  especially if you have had some input into its design or like with Legally Lucky,  modeled for the cover....

Our eldest son,  Paul,  a designer by trade,  told me to lay down on our kitchen floor after taking £35.00 (all I had)  out of my wallet,  throwing it on the floor then taking photos of me and the money to construct the end product.  Getting hold of handcuffs was no easy task...  Thanks to a local toy shop,  I bought some plastic ones...  They would do.

After a few pics,  he kicked the money around,  photographing the random settlement of the notes.

Next was the wizardry of photoshop skills he has and hey presto the cover was born...
As this was my first book,  I was as excited as a child in a candy store. 

The covers for Phobic Wars And Mental Dental (MBP) were designed by me.  They are cool but not as good.
I need to redesign these so if anyone has any ideas,  please contact me.

My latest book is nearly finished.
Just waiting for the literary agents decision to go with it.
Phantasms in the Infirmary has a new cover and I am sharing this one with my wife.  She has written some of the stories...  Keeping it in the family.
In the same theme,  Paul,  our eldest son, has designed the new look cover...  See attached.
He is a graphics designer so why not use the in house skill set!!

The cover for my new book

I'm nearly finished writing the new book and have been working on the cover..
What are your thoughts on this?

Please let me know comments and suggestions on the lay out,  title etc.

This is my third draft and feel pretty pleased with it. 
It's my own concept and artwork but I'm open to suggestions. 

I will publish one of the chapters on this blog when it's finished..  So couple of weeks more is my estimation.
