Phantasms Promo

So, once the book is written, that's the easy bit done...
Seriously, selling books, stories and novels takes the next steps to be taken energetically. This is especially true if you are self publishing.
from Instagram posts to TikTok vids, it all takes time and a little imagination.
Phantasms vid will show you one of my recent vids added to TikTok.

With any luck, it will create some interest in the stories and a couple will be bought and read...
Meanwhile, more ideas, creativity and ingenuity are required

Busy

It's been a busy few weeks, so much so I have not posted anything here since early last month!
The day job is in its busy 'peak season' for respiratory illnesses, family commitments have also been demanding, enjoyable but non the less, all absorbing.
Thankfully, today is a little easier.

So what's happening out there?
It's snowing, cold and treacherous on the roads. We had been trying to get to Colchester, trying to travel a route that would take an hour in total... Two hours later, several skids and anxiety attacks +++ with only half the route travelled, we turned around.
The snow has eased but the roads are like sheets of ice now...
I've just returned from walking RosieG, slipping and sliding around and happy to be indoors.

The snow looks beautiful and the landscape turns a different hue with the winter-scape. The frosted leaves, trees and grass, white and glistening... Gorgeous but treacherous.
My mum, comfortable and warm in Gibraltar, has never seen the snow and is always saying we are so lucky... But mum, I'd trade the warm sun to the snow any day.

Cold, rainy days and dark evenings are back

The summer seems to be over, at least it feels this way in the UK.
The warmth of the day is less obvious as the temperature seems to have plummeted by a few degrees.
The evenings have drawn in as we now contend with the questions 'do we turn the heating on'?
Well with every cloud, there's a silver lining... I will now be more determined to finish the book I am writing.
What is it!?
Well it's the third part to the Mental Dental (MBP) series.
Yes, more thrilling adventures for Dr Jessie Stack as she faces the dangers of wrestling with psychopathic killer dentists.

So I hopefully will be able to complete the task I have set ahead and will publish in the coming months.
In the meantime, the summer may not be a distraction anymore but I have paid work, family and especially my gorgeous grandchildren to keep me from pen and paper.

Onwards and upwards

Work Life Balance ... Help!

21st century life can be stressful
The work / life balance has its good points. Finding time to live other than work is tight sometimes. The day job tends to "Zap" the life out of us and all we want to do is colapse and vegetate after that...

However there are many things we can do, I prefer to remain creative and write, paint and play guitar (a good alternative to the long list of DIY chores!).
However, lately it is becoming significantly harder to achieve this.
There are a now a number of unfinished and some yet to be started projects... so if anyone has any ideas on how to motivate and schedule hobbies in, please share them.

I would love to be systematic and dedicate allotted times for the number of things in my head, so many that they get left by the way side.
HELP!!

Hidden treasure

So many hours devoted to producing a creative piece that engages and entertains.
Writing a book is hard work but fun.
It is the process akin to whittling out a statuette from a piece of crude timber.
The elements of paper, ink, words etc are there.
The author juggles, forms and creates a formated piece of ideas and thoughts that are shared publicly with good faith.

There are hidden treasures out in the ether that are waiting to be discovered.

Be brave,  take a plunge and dare to read new authors...

Self published author... It's not easy

Writing books is easy in comparison to all the promotion and marketing of the end product.
It doesn't matter how good the writing is or the stories if no one is aware they are there for the taking.
Blog, Google +, #twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn groups, websites etc.  It's a big ask.
Especially when you also have a day job...!
The efforts are tremendous,  the returns are meager in comparison.  However one is like a dog with a bone,  I won't let go.
I know the novels are good,  they will succeed and be good sellers.
Blood, sweat and coffee!!!
All that is left to do is persevere...  Wish me luck 😎
