Nursing Times Awards Winner 2007

It will soon be the NT awards again..  The Oscars of Nursing.

I'm glad to have been a winner of one of these awards in 2007 for instigating the first community based service for recurrent malignant pleural effusion drainage in the UK.

Prouder though of being able to help so many needy people and make their lives easier,  improving quality whilst managing to save a lot of ££££ A truly QIPP idea...

Oops, Mallet finger

No guitar for a while...  6 weeks of healing after sustaining an injury....Mallet finger fail. 
I'd like to say that my parachute failed and I landed on my left middle finger but....  It's not as flash as that!!!!

Not long now until the AARP conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I borrowed a jacket off my uncle and did not have one for a formal occasion whilst holidaying in Gibraltar

Kind of him to loan me a very nice woolen jacket,  however arms were a little short for me.

It did the trick but after a little alcohol...  Tried this out!!

I was conversing with my wife this evening about ebooks and paperbacks.
She prefers a good old fashioned paper based read...  The smell,  feel, reflection and real reading experience.

I like paperbacks,  even though the profits are better on electronic versions but it's not all about the money!!

A Garden full of life

After a long and hard winter,  gardening is back on the agenda.

Today whilst reinvigorating our garden Hose,  I found this massive spider living in the hose housing unit..

Great example but scared the bijesus out of me... Me and bugs don't get on too well....  Hence why I wrote Phobic Wars!

I wonder if he is responsible for the winter Web design as attached that we photographed in mid winter?  ..

Blogging Activity

I am relatively new to blogging and think it's brilliant.
I've checked the distribution of visitors and it's refreshing to see the variety of countries that visit. 

The sources are expected a lot of the time.. Google, Facebook, Twitter etc... 
Then there are sights I'd never heard of before...

The link between posts and activity is very succinct...  and immediate.

It's also enjoyable and although I've not had much feedback... (hint hint..,) It's a means of communication with the world. 

I hope to learn more from blogging and hope to connect with you all.

I need some guidance,  am I doing the right thing,  do I need to change my approach,  can I be more targeted?

The characters seem so real, its almost like I know them! The writer's best and latest book is excellent. I was scared of dentists before I read this. Now I know they are human too, they make mistakes. Except for that scary dentist in Little Shop of Horrors of course

Why read books?

Why do we read books?
The innate need to seek knowledge and attain information about our immediate surrounding environment ultimately ensures power and safety.

We also read to keep ourselves occupied and entertained. And escape and experience from the otherwise mundane existence in the 21st century.

Fortunately we do not live in the middle of a war torn zone,  Essex is pretty safe really!!! (Once you are able to distinguish the orange camouflage).

Letting the imagination run free is good for the soul. Reading and relaxation...

Fiction does the trick for me.
Crime and cliff hanging finishes absorb me the most,  generating images and keeping me hooked.

My three books are intended to do this...  Rams books

One hopes,  that the aims were attained!!
