Things that go bump in the night

Hands up I'd you have never heard of a spooky hospital story!
I thought as much, not many.
We've all heard them and some may have even experienced some.

What about the other stuff you can't just quantity?

We've all had them... That shudder up your spine when something isn't just right.
That chill of fright that is especially strong at night.
The sudden noise or unearthly sight, especially strong in a hospital at night.

Hospitals are buildings full of pain, grief and death.
No other place brings us so close to our own mortality than these institutions.
Ghosts, hauntings, spectral activity and poltergeists galore.
Malevolent spiritual beings and the white angels alike.
Care to visit? Visiting times are now open but... Be brave, the stories will keep you awake and in a high state of alertness.
They are stories, myths and legends in a collection of books you will enjoy.

Phantasms in the Infirmary Vol I and Vol II plus a little more in the Ultimate Phantasms in the Infirmary is a collection of short stories involving spooky goings on in all hospitals.
It's set in one for the sake of the series but it does occur everywhere...

Check them out... If you dare by clicking here

Sharing the experience

The question is, are ghosts and apparitions all bad?
People have shared stories of spectral encounters related to Phantasms in the Infirmary and they are not all scary.
Have you ever seen a ghostly figure in a hospital?
Was it good or bad as experiences go?
Would you like to share them with us so they can be retold in Vol II?
If you have any story to share,  please email me via my website.
I will reply and if it's a crackingly good experience, we will use it and acknowledge the source in the next instalment...

Thanks

The Nun of Death

The Nun of death

This is only the first part of this story.

It is adapted from experiences in one of the hospitals I worked in,  during the early stages of my career.
Stories of the Nun made my night shifts.... A living nightmare!!

No self-respecting compilation of ghost stories would be complete without a creepy nun story. There is something about their dark habits, uniform as opposed to their inclinations.
Their legs unseen under the heavy dresses, they seem to float effortlessly over any terrain that can freak people out. It is ironic that these peace loving and helpful members of the Catholic Church can somehow terrorise people with their attire…!
St Augustus hospital was no exception to the apparition of a veiled form or two. It had not only been a convent at one point in its relatively long life but also Nuns had long been nurses too.
Reports had been numerous about the nun that could be seen at the old staircase that led from the care of the elderly ward on the ground floor to the male medical ward. Ward 11 was a particular favourite site to meet ”Sister Fatality”or “The Nun of Death”as she was more commonly known.
