Telephone Voice

A friend and colleague of mine was telling me he enjoys reading my novels.  However 'you write with a telephone voice' he said..?
I obviously asked what he meant..
'Well you sound all posh when you should be you ' was his rationale.
He explained that I was funny and can tell a good story when talking so why not write like that!?

Good reasoning but I'd find that difficult. Especially writing thrillers...

Once off the bedpan, the lady turned to her right hand side where the attentive young student nurse stood, bedpan in hand and said ‘Thanks dear’ and then turned to the other side of the bed and said ‘thank you too…’

Julie then addressed the patient and inquired ‘sorry, who were you just talking to?’

‘Well, you and your colleague who just helped me on and off the bedpan’ was the patient’s reply.

‘What colleague?’ Julie returned.

‘That tall man in a white uniform that was with you of course’…

‘There is no one else here with me’ she replied as she felt a cold shudder up her spine and neck.

She pulled the curtains open and looked for a man or any other member of staff that may have just left but there was no one there.

Volume II In the planning stages.. Submit your story

I'm planning a follow up to the next book already,  I thought a volume II would be a great way to share spectral stories and ghoulish encounters from the wider community.
Your stories of ghostly hospital appearances would be a good medium to inspire the next book so please share them and any used will get a mention in volume II.

The cover for my new book

I'm nearly finished writing the new book and have been working on the cover..
What are your thoughts on this?

Please let me know comments and suggestions on the lay out,  title etc.

This is my third draft and feel pretty pleased with it. 
It's my own concept and artwork but I'm open to suggestions. 

I will publish one of the chapters on this blog when it's finished..  So couple of weeks more is my estimation.
