A friend and colleague of mine was telling me he enjoys reading my novels. However 'you write with a telephone voice' he said..?
I obviously asked what he meant..
'Well you sound all posh when you should be you ' was his rationale.
He explained that I was funny and can tell a good story when talking so why not write like that!?

Good reasoning but I'd find that difficult. Especially writing thrillers...
