Growing up in Gibraltar, my abuelo used to tell us stories, fables that would entertain but also teach us. They included 'El Mantequero' who would come out of the bushes and slice your palm, stealing 'la manteca de las manos' With a BIG knife... It was to teach us not to wander into the Alameda gardens in the dark and stay safe....
