They have been a Big Team in their past and have a long history. DCFC were one of the 12 founder members of the first football league in 1884. An astonishing 140 years ago.
It is therefore sad to see them in the lower divisions but now, they have gained promition back up to the championship and hopefully, jump up to the Premier l
The higher the divisions, the more money the club makes and therefore able to compete with the Big Boys. However the team is well supported and the players are skilled, dedicated and proud to be Derby players.
So what will happen next year?
They will compete against some strong opposition that will contain the winners of the current 1st division, Portsmouth. My youngest son and I were lucky to watch DCFC play Portsmouth earlier in the season... What a game, what an atmosphere, electric
So with an eager heart we await the awakening of this Footballing giant in this coming season.
My aspirations for them is to stay in the Championship for a coue o seasons and then get to play in the Premier league again.
