Legally Lucky could be a good film

My publisher rang asking me to consider getting more promotional about my first novel..  Legally Lucky
They said it has the making of a great film.
I'd like to solicit some opinion on this.

Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Writing a screenplay is another thing for a novice like me and I'd need some guidance.
Any ideas?

Great Tv needed

Look forward to a good film or tv?
Like me,  you probably look forward to a good story on screen after a hard days work.
Dissatisfied with what's on?
Yeah, me too...

How can I get a story considered for adaptation to a screenplay?

There must be a multitude of people out there with a story that will make great Tv or a movie..  So how do we navigate the complexity of the business if you are not in the film industry?

How does one make that transition without the skill of writing a screenplay?
I'm not a screenwriter.
I'm an author that aspires to an adaptation of one of my books being used.
Bollywood, Hollywood..  I'd love to see one of my stories taken to the next level.

They are original and compatible with the medium..
Mental Dental (murder by proxy)..  Psychological thriller about murdering dentists
Legally Lucky...  A rags to riches story involving legal tangles, conspiracy and friendship
Phobic Wars..  Cockroaches and armagedon combined.

Any guidance is welcome...

Screenplay adaptation waiting to happen

An original story which makes a great movie or mini series..  Waiting for someone to adapt it... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mental-Dental-Murder-Proxy-Gulrajani/dp/1470902710/ref=la_B005O7JDBG_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1391454960&sr=1-2

Screenplay adaptation for film

Mental Dental (MBP) is a great story.
A heroine who battles to save her career,  clear her name and solve the puzzle that is causing the deaths of so many by innocent perpetrators..  A web of mystery and intrigue.
I think it works on the small or big screen. However it's a big ask to convert this into a screenplay,  never mind a blockbuster.
I am trying to build the courage to attempt this.
Any hints are welcome.
Any direction too...  Especially any unpaid volunteers...
Wish me luck

How many books make it to film?

Barages of emails are received with offers of turning one of my books into a movie.
They come with a cost attached of course.  However I am interested to know if anyone reading this blog knows someone who's story has inspired a movie?
In deed if anyone has had a published book turned into a film?
Was this spontaneous or supported by financially driven means through a publisher?
It would be great as some books lend themselves to conversion to the silver screen.
I have always thought this would be great but equally very difficult to convert. The process of writing a book is a steep learning curve, writing a screen play..  A minefield

Your thoughts would be appreciated as would any links or tips...

I eagerly await your response
Thanks
Ram :-)
